Sam Stern was a popular Comedian, Vocalist and Composer, who wrote most of his own songs.
Born in New York City in 1883, he made his first appearance on the stage in 1901 in a Jewish repertory company at Gluckmann's Theatre, Chicago.
He first appeared in London at the Shoreditch Empire in July 1910. This was followed by a tour of the Syndicate halls and Moss Empires.
Among his more popular songs include "I'm Just nobody"; "Brother Sylvester"; "Yiddle On Yer Fiddle"; "Brave Antonio"; "Cohen Owes Me Ninety Seven Dollars."
