Kay Kendall Plaque installed by Philip Wright - The Music Hall Guild Archive .jpg

Our ongoing Commemorative Blue Plaque scheme helps to acknowledge significant locations associated with the lives and careers of distinguished performers and through this scheme we have promoted great interest and awareness of our cultural heritage.

Our blue plaques mark a life lived, reflecting either humble beginnings or the success that came from a long theatrical career and everything in between those two extremes.

The plaques not only add interest to the property on which they are placed but they also raise the level of cultural awareness in the local area. By their very permanence, they continue to attract attention beyond any unveiling event and we believe they are a wonderful legacy to leave for future generations to discover.

Past recipients of our Commemorative Blue Plaques include Music Hall stars MARIE LLOYD and NELLY POWER,  Hollywood actress IDA LUPINO, The Great LUPINO LANE,  Prima Ballerina DAME MARGOT FONTEYN, British Stage and Screen actresses KAY KENDALL and DAME THORA HIRD.

If you would like to propose a recipient for one of our commemorative blue plaque,

then do get in touch and we can discuss further.
