ABOUT US

The Music Hall Guild has been described by many as a unique charity: delivering, as it does, a host of enriching cultural activities and engagements for almost forty years now.

During that time, The Guild has grown in unexpected ways from its humble beginnings as The Stage Door Children's Theatre Workshop, founded by our Director Adrian Barry who was dedicated to bringing confidence, self-belief, self worth and performance skills to hundreds of underprivileged children and young people in London and the South East, which would lead to the delivery of a number of Reminiscence projects for the elderly.

Even to this day the Guild continues to engage with older people, through its pop up Arts and Crafts programme SILVER THREADS, which helps to bring Older People together and out of isolation.

We have supported and encouraged the Arts in so many ways and sought to celebrate, rescue and preserve our cultural heritage and in doing so we have engaged, educated and informed others through the process

All of this we have undertaken as a voluntary body, a registered charity with no paid staff or revenue funding.

Over the years the funding streams available to our organisation have dwindled and in more recent times, the Covid-19 pandemic has decreased these funding opportunities further, which is why we are appealing to you to help support The Guild and help us continue our work for the future.

With your much-needed support, we can further our aims and aspirations:

  • To celebrate our cultural heritage.

  • To protect and preserve the fragments of our cultural past.

  • To help enrich lives and encourage well-being for Older People.

  • To transform the lives of Young People, enabling them to reach their potential and help to embrace their individuality

  • To ensure that art activities are both accessible and inclusive.

  • To continue to encourage the arts in all forms.
